Brooke D. Youngwirth, Member
Brooke founded YPL in 2023; she specializes in representing both employees and private and public-sector employers before state and federal agencies, including the New York State Division of Human Rights and the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission for over ten years. Brooke also defends private and public employers against employment harassment and discrimination, labor violations, and various other federal and state claims. In addition, Brooke frequently provides counsel to individuals, school districts, police departments, and other private employers on a range of topics such as wrongful termination, student disciplinary matters, employment discrimination, and the implementation of employment policies and handbooks. Brooke has held client training sessions and continuing legal education seminars on various topics including: employment discrimination and harassment prevention, institutional sexual abuse, discrimination and harassment investigations, electronic discovery and dispositive motions.
Brooke‘s litigation skills allow for a majority of cases to settle prior to going to court, eliminating risk and expenses. Brooke’s practical approach to matters ensures clients feel secure and confident while handling their business and personal matters. Brooke is admitted to practicelaw in the State of New York and numerous federal courts. She also practices in the areas of intellectual property, civil litigation, and franchise law.
David R. Wise, Of Counsel
David R. Wise joined YPL as of-counsel in July 2023. David brings to the firm thirty-six years of experience in labor and employment and construction law. Before retiring from full-time practice in 2021, he concentrated his private practice on management-side labor and employment law in both public and private sectors. David concentrates on specialized and select labor and employment matters for YPL. Through the course of his career, David has provided counsel in all aspects of human resources and labor relations, including employee handbooks, employment contracts, collective bargaining negotiations, wage and hour issues and medical leaves. He has also defended numerous employment-based claims arising under statutes such as the Americans with Disabilities Act, Family and Medical Leave Act, Fair Labor Standards Act, Title VII and the New York State Human Rights Law, as well as claims arising from non-compete and confidentiality agreements.
